We have 46 membership slots.   Whenever we have open slot(s), we will accept membership applications and conduct membership jurying in the spring of the year.   This event will be anounced through flyers distributed to various ceramics work places as well as in this webpage.    All active members of the Guild will be required to participate at the jurying and a yes vote from 2/3 of the members will be required for an applicant to qualify to compete for the available open slots.   Applicants are to submit seven pieces of labeled recent work, together with a copy of the application to the Guild for such jurying.

We will be jurying for new members in April of 2008.  You must submit seven recent works and your application Thursday, April 3 through Sunday, April 6.

The Potters' Guild is both a professional association and a retail gallery.    Members are required to participate in both aspects of the group.   The gallery is open seven days a week and members tend to clerking duties on a rotating schedule.   Clerk duties include: gallery sales, transactions of cash, check and credit cards, balancing the day's transactions, making bank deposits, studio housekeeping, and greeting the public in a professional and cordial manner.  The Potters' Guild relies on the efforts of its members for its continued growth and vitality.  Members must be available to serve on committees, and be chairpersons of various efforts, as well as officers of the group.

All existing members have free access to the studio facility and have their works on display for sale at the gallery.   Members can use the electric and gas kilns at the Guild but must pay a fee for each usage to cover the cost of utilities and equipment depreciation.   The annual membership fee is $75 at this time.   In addition members must take turns manning the counter at the gallery (which amounts to about once a month per member at this time) as well as sharing duties at the semiannual sales.   Certain percentage of the semiannual and gallery sales are kept by the Guild to pay for its operation.   There is a monthly meeting for all members at 7 pm on the first Monday of every month.    Details of our rules and regulations are outlined in the BY-LAWS.
