Elizabeth Woolrych is a potter, sculptor and teacher.  She teaches adults and children in many places around San Diego (and as a Lecturer/Demonstrator at the Academy of Arts and Design in Beijing, China in 1992) as well as teaching classes at the San Diego Potters’ Guild, and in Studio 6, her studio in the Spanish Village Art Center.

Elizabeth’s area of expertise is that fragile atmosphere of alternative and primitive firing techniques.  As she says:  “After countless firings, the special effects left by the burning elements of straw, seaweed, or leaves still seem like magic to me.”

Her work is represented in several galleries:  Art Options, Santa Monica, CA Phoenix Rising Gallery, Seattle, WA, Santa Isabel Gallery, Santa Isabel, CA and the Swansborough Gallery, Wellfleet, MA
