Elizabeth Woolrych is a potter, sculptor and teacher. She
teaches adults and children in many places around San Diego (and as a Lecturer/Demonstrator
at the Academy of Arts and Design in Beijing, China in 1992) as well as teaching
classes at the San Diego Potters’ Guild, and in Studio 6, her studio in the
Spanish Village Art Center.
Elizabeth’s area of expertise is that fragile atmosphere of alternative
and primitive firing techniques. As she says: “After countless
firings, the special effects left by the burning elements of straw, seaweed,
or leaves still seem like magic to me.”
