I began working in clay as soon as I saw how magical it was, and I haven't stopped since. I like color, texture, and form, so when I walk on the beach or work in my garden, I am constantly finding sources of inspiration in the shape of a seed pod, the texture of bark, or the patterns of a kelp leaf. All of this finds its way into or onto my pots. I make forms and then add texture and color to enhance the shape. Humor is a big part of my life so it works its way into my clay in the form of stamps I have made. Pushing into clay or altering my forms by pushing in or out keeps them from being to serious. One can never have to much fun in one's life.

My pots are intended to be used on a daily basis; it is a treat to pick out the bowl or cup tht goes with your mood and your meal. A pretty vase may inspire you to keep fresh flowers around to liven up your home and your life.

I was very fortunate to have fantastic teachers like Marguerite Wildenhain, who studied at the Bauhaus, and her assistant Dave Stewart. I continue my ceramic education by taking workshops with Tom Coleman, Nick Joerling, and many others. It is inspiring to work with masters.

I hope my clay inspires you, and brings joy and beauty to your life.
