Every two months the central display in the gallery showcases work from our members on a specific theme. A potter's work, at its core, marries form and function. The potter’s hands mold clay into shapes that evoke emotion, tell stories, and invite touch. Fired by kilns, a vessel then becomes infused with purpose. Each piece becomes utility but is also a testament of art and beauty. From a sipping cup comes stories around a fire, from a plate at the table comes holiday traditions and human connections. A teapot becomes an heirloom, passed down through generations. The magic of clay subtly blurs the boundaries of form, function, and art. Featured work by Hiromi Minemura. |
