Randy Johnston has been working in ceramics for 45 years. He is currently professor and department chair at the University of Wisconsin where he teaches ceramics and drawing. Read all about Randy and his work at www.mckeachiejohnstonstudios.com Randy will demonstrate and develop clay forming skills with a focus on using a variety of hand-building and throwing techniques, including paper patterns, wood drop forms altering and assemblage. He will discuss and develop the ideas used to integrate form and surface for his work, addressing both functional and sculptural intentions. Developing texture and woodfiring techniques will be discussed. |
