The San Diego Potters' Guild presents a workshop with Julia Galloway, February 19-21, 2016. Julia Galloway is a utilitarian potter, professor at the School of Art at the University of Montana. She exhibits, lectures, and teaches workshops across the United States and Canada. www.juliagalloway.com
PROGRAM
1. Slide Lecture: Friday, February 19, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Location: SDSU, room Art 412; park at the trolley and ride the trolley to the campus.
Cost: FREE for everyone
Julia will show images of historical pots and her most current studio work.
2. Workshop: Sat-Sun, February 20-21, 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Location: El Cajon Valley High School, Room #702, 1035 E Madison Ave, El Cajon, CA 92021
Cost: $100 ($60 for SDPG Members)
Join us for a two day demonstration workshop with Julia Galloway. Julia will make teapots, pitchers, cups, and different kinds of sets. She will also show a variety of surface decoration, primarily using slips. She will discuss developing the relationship between glaze surface and pottery form, mid-range glaze firing, and idea development.
