I was raised by artistic loving parents who homesteaded 80 acres on the Santa Margarita River in Fallbrook, California. I wore dresses my mother made from flower sacks, and was barefoot until I started school. This down to earth upbringing instilled a love of nature, creativity and a respect for individuality.
Taking a pottery class taught by David Cuzick in 1989 introduced me to clay. David and I married in 1996. He continues to inspire and support my growth as a ceramic artist. The evolution of my work since 1989 has resulted in what I believe today is my own distinctive voice. My work is primarily wheel thrown and altered with hand-carved and slip trailing details. I have developed a palette of glazes which enhance without obscuring the carving and slip trailing. My signature work is distinctive, whimsical, and vibrantly colored pottery. |
